URSZULA PIEREGOŃCZUK (born in 1984)
She is a producer, screenwriter, director, scenography and film editor in her films. She usually starts with an image, which haunts her. It is later that she starts to create a story. There is a strong aesthetic value in her works. She expresses her sensitivity in that way, but also it represents a counter-balance to the scenes of violence, rape and indoctrination, which appear in her works. The fact that she paints her actors white is aimed at ‘composing’ them in the constructed space, where everything is interfered with. By removing the natural skin colour (the only testimony of us living) allows for the existence of a strange space ‘somewhere in-between’. It creates a formal purity, where all elements result from each other.
Pieregończuk graduated from Graphic Design at Arts Department of UMCS in Lublin (2011).
